POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA.com) - Polk County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after rescue crews responded to a home for a drowning call involving two male toddlers Friday night.

Polk County Fire Rescue says two young boys, identified as 18-month-old Silas Walsh and 24-month-old Jayvian Watkins, were involved in a swimming pool accident at their grandparent's home located at 7108 Morning Dove Circle. They boys are cousins and Silas lived at the home with his grandparents.

They were found face down in the water of the pool by family members around
6:15 p.m.

The children were taken to
Lakeland Regional Hospital and are currently in "extremely critical condition."

"This is a nightmare of monumental proportions," Sheriff Grady Judd said. They will be doing a complete investigation into the incident.
