TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - It's nearly a year since Tampa hosted the Republican National Convention. And now, organizers have released their final economic impact analysis.
They say it exceeds expectations.
The University of Tampa study concludes there was $212 million dollars in direct impact to the Bay Area with a total impact to the community of $404 million.
And organizers believe the RNC has paved the way for big businesses to move into the area, like Amazon and Bristol-Myers Squibb. And they say you can thank Tampa's hosting of the RNC for the city being awarded the Bollywood oscars at the Forum next June.
