Bay Area! Thank goodness! Before it even made its way to the airwaves, Shawty Lo’s  new reality show about his life with 10 different women  that bore his 11 children has reportedly been cancelled due to extreme  controversy over showing negative stereotypes. A petition going around to end  the show dead in its tracks had amassed over 40,000 signatures in less than 2  weeks, and apparently it caught Oxygen execs’ attention! More info below. Are  you happy or upset the show might not air?

The Daily Beast reports that best-selling author  Sabrina Lamb’s petition is the cause behind the cancellation…even though Oxygen  is denying they’ve cancelled it. However, the DB’s sources are rock solid and  confirm that the show won’t be seeing the light of day. When responding to the  controversy surrounding the show, Oxygen first offered this:

“It was not meant to be a stereotypical representation of everyday life for  any one demographic or cross section of society.”

“All I can assume is that the network believed its young female demographic  would be amused by the sordid lives of a black man with a criminal past and the  many women and children who depend on him,” the Daily Beast’s Allison Samuels  said in response. Let’s see if her “sources” are really true!
