(WENN) - Meek Mill has filed a lawsuit against members of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania police department.
The 25 year old claims his Range Rover was pulled over and he was detained without cause or justification on October 31, forcing him to miss a promotional appearance in Atlanta, Georgia.
He remained in custody for nine hours and released the following morning without being charged with any crime.
And now Meek Mill, real name Robert Williams, is suing arresting officers Andre Boyer and Michael Vargas and the City of Philadelphia, for civil rights violations, false imprisonment, invasion of privacy and civil conspiracy.
Williams, who took to Twitter after his release to defend himself, is seeking unspecified damages, according to reports.
