So here's the deal. 18 year old Chicago Rapper named Lil Jojo (real name Joseph Coleman) was gunned down as he rode his bicycle. Police do not have a definitive motive for the crime yet, however they are investigating a taunting tweet that was sent by fellow rapper Chief Keef.
Outside the funeral home (while the viewing was taking place) gathered a mob of Lil Jojo supporters (many with t-shirts bearing his face) who danced around a car as they blared one of his songs. There was also a very noticible smell of weed in the air...
"These kids were reaching for a false dream, and these record (companies) are coming to our city … and telling them that they're going to be superstars. And they're not looking at giving these kids guidance or artist development," Lil Jojo's cousin Charles Swift said to applause at the wake.
Things went even more left when a large mob of people got too close to the casket and almost knocked it over on to the floor! That's when police showed up and cleared out the Funeral Home.
"People are showing zero tolerance for (this behavior at) these gang funerals," said Cmdr. James Gibson, whose Morgan Park police district covers Beverly and Mount Greenwood, predominantly middle-class neighborhoods where many police officers, firefighters and other city workers live. "There's a constant dialogue (with the community) to come up with fresh ideas to help keep this under control."
When being respectful goes wrong ... these people get a giant "wtf?!" from the rest of society.
